QR Code Generator

Make a QR code for a link, text, WhatsApp chat, WiFi login, email, phone number or contact card, and download it as PNG or SVG. The codes are static, so they never expire, with no signup or watermark.

Style

Keep the foreground dark and the background light. Many scanners fail on inverted or low-contrast codes.

Your QR code

Fill in the content to generate a QR code.

Static QR code: the content is stored in the pattern itself. It works forever and does not depend on this site. Test it with your phone camera before printing.

How to make a QR code

  1. Pick the type of code: Link, Text, WhatsApp, WiFi, Email, Phone or Contact. Fill in the fields and the code updates as you type.
  2. Set the colours, the PNG size from 256 to 2048 pixels, and the error correction level. Keep a dark foreground on a light background, since many scanners fail on inverted codes. Need an exact colour code? Get it from Color Picker.
  3. Scan the code with your phone camera to test it before you print or share it.
  4. Download it as PNG, or as SVG for printing at any size.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes: the link or text is stored in the pattern itself, so the code keeps working without this site. The trade-off is that you cannot change where it points after printing. Make a new code instead.

How do I make a QR code for WiFi?

Pick WiFi, type the network name and password exactly, capitals included, and choose the security type; WPA covers WPA2 and WPA3. Set Hidden network to Yes if the network does not broadcast its name. Scanning it with a phone camera offers to join without typing the password.

How do I make a WhatsApp QR code?

Pick WhatsApp and enter the number in international format with no + and no leading 0, such as 923001234567 for a Pakistani mobile. Add a pre-filled message if you want one. Scanning the code opens a chat with that number through a wa.me link.

Which error correction level should I choose?

Medium suits most codes; it can recover about 15% of damaged data. Choose Quartile or High if the code will be printed small, may get dirty or scratched, or will have a logo over part of it. Higher levels make the pattern denser for the same content.

How much can a QR code hold?

The largest QR code holds up to 7,089 digits, 4,296 letters and digits, or 2,953 bytes of other text. In practice keep it far shorter: a short link scans much more reliably than a long paragraph, especially when printed small.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG for websites, WhatsApp and documents; pick 1024 px or more if it will be printed. SVG for banners, shop signs and print shops, because it stays sharp at any size.

Is there a watermark, signup or scan limit?

No. The code is made in your browser, with no account and no watermark. Nothing counts or tracks scans, and there is no limit on how many codes you make.
