Frequently asked questions
Which tool should I use for a job application photo?
Photo & Signature Resizer when the form gives a photo shape or pixel size as well as a KB limit: it crops the photo to that shape and keeps it under the limit. FPSC, for example, asks for a recent passport size photo in JPEG format under 30 KB. Use Image Compressor when the form gives only a KB limit.

Should I save a picture as JPG or PNG?
JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots, logos and graphics with flat colours. PNG is lossless, so a photo saved as PNG is often bigger than the JPG it came from. JPG drops detail you rarely notice to make the file much smaller.

How does Image to Text read text without uploading the image?
Image to Text runs Tesseract, an open source text recognition engine, in your browser. The first run downloads the reader, about 7 MB, from this site; later runs load it from your browser's cache, and your images never leave your device.

Do the QR codes made here expire?
No. They are static codes: the link or text is stored in the pattern itself, so the code keeps working without this site. You cannot change where a printed code points, so make a new one instead.
