How to resize a photo for an online form
- Pick a preset for your form, or choose Custom and type the width and height in pixels.
- Drop your photo or signature on the box. The resized version appears right away with its exact size in KB.
- Adjust the settings if needed, then download. The file is a JPEG, which every form accepts. To get several photos under a KB limit without a fixed size, use Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
What photo size does FPSC ask for?
FPSC's online application guidelines ask for a recent passport size photo in JPEG format, under 30 KB. The FPSC preset makes a 350 x 450 px photo (the 35 x 45 mm passport shape) and keeps it under 30 KB.

What about PPSC, NTS and SPSC?
PPSC's two guides differ. The 2022 online application guide limits the photo (and the CNIC image) to under 25 KB, while the 2024 photograph guidelines allow a JPG of up to 60 KB with a white background, at least 3.5 x 4.5 cm. The PPSC preset uses 25 KB, which passes both. The NTS candidate portal asks for a passport size photo with a blue or white background, up to 5 MB. SPSC's regulations ask for a recent passport size photo with a white background. Portals change their rules, so always check the advert you are applying to.

How do I resize a signature?
Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, take a photo in good light, and pick the Signature preset. The "Make the background pure white" option turns the grey paper white, which looks cleaner and makes the file smaller. Change the width and height if your form gives a size.
Crop to fill or fit whole photo?
Crop to fill is right for most photos: the picture fills the box and the edges are trimmed. Fit whole photo keeps everything and adds white bars, which suits a signature or document you must not cut.
