Unlock PDF

Remove the password from a PDF you can already open, like a bank statement or salary slip, or lift its print and copy limits. Unlocked on your device, never uploaded.

Unlocked on your device. Your PDF and password are never uploaded.

What next?

The unlocked file works in every other PDF tool here. Merge it with other files, compress it for an upload limit, or split out the pages you need.

How to remove a password from a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF on the box. The tool checks whether it needs a password or only has print and copy limits.
  2. If it asks, type the password you were given. Press the eye button to see what you typed.
  3. Click Unlock PDF and download the copy. It opens without a password and prints normally. To combine it with other files, use Merge PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF or password uploaded?

No. The PDF is unlocked by your browser on your own device, and the password you type never leaves it. That matters for bank statements, salary slips and tax documents.

Can it unlock a PDF if I do not know the password?

No, and it does not try. It removes a password you already have, so you do not have to type it every time you open the file. If you have lost the password, ask whoever sent you the PDF.

What is the password for my bank statement?

Banks set it themselves and say so in the email that comes with the statement. It is often built from your CNIC number, date of birth or account number, such as the last digits of one of them. Check that email, or the bank's website, for the exact format.

My PDF opens fine but I cannot print or copy from it.

That PDF has restrictions but no password to open. Drop it here and click Unlock PDF; no password is needed. The copy you download prints and copies normally.

Is it legal to remove a PDF password?

Removing a password from your own document, or one you were given the password for, is fine. Do not use it to get around protection on files you are not allowed to open or copy.
